Introduction and Summary
This page explains what personal information we collect when you use 1st Class Assured, why we collect it, and what we do with it. The short version: — We collect what you give us and what your usage generates. — We use it to run the platform and make it better for you. — We do not sell your data to anyone. Ever. — You can ask us to delete your data at any time. — We use Paystack for payments and AI providers for our tools. They process some of your data. We explain this in full below. If you have questions, email us at [email protected]
Who We Are
1st Class Assured is operated by [Legal Entity Name], a company registered in Ghana. We are registered with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana. Our registered address is [address, Ghana]. If you have any privacy questions, contact our data protection team at [email protected]
What Information We Collect
We collect three types of information: what you give us directly when you sign up and use the platform, what your usage naturally generates (like your scores and study activity), and what third-party services such as Paystack tell us about payments. We do not collect more than we need. We do not have access to your full Mobile Money number — Paystack handles payment credentials. We cannot see your password — it is stored as a one-way cryptographic hash.
Why We Collect It (Legal Basis)
We only collect information we actually need. Under the Ghana Data Protection Act 2012, we must have a lawful reason to collect and use personal data. The table below explains what we collect, why, and on what legal basis.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to run the platform, personalise your experience, process payments, send you relevant updates, and improve the platform over time. What we do not do: We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share your academic performance data with your university without your explicit consent. We do not use your AI prompts to train AI models without your consent.
International Data Transfers
Some of your data is processed outside Ghana — specifically when you use our AI tools, where prompts are sent to AI providers whose servers may be located in the United States or Europe. We take steps to protect your data whenever it leaves Ghana.
How We Protect Your Data
We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data. Your password is stored as a one-way hash — we cannot see it. All data between your device and our servers is encrypted. Payment credentials are handled entirely by Paystack. No system is 100% secure. If we ever experience a data breach that affects you, we will tell you within 72 hours.
How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, most data is deleted within 30 days. Payment records must be kept for 7 years under Ghanaian financial law — we cannot waive this even if you delete your account. Content you contributed to the question bank (past papers, answers) may remain on the platform with your name removed.
Children and Young People
The platform is for university students aged 16 and above. If you are between 16 and 17, a parent or guardian must consent to your use of the platform. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If a parent believes their child under 16 has created an account, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete the account immediately.
Your Rights
You have real rights over your data under the Ghana Data Protection Act 2012. You can access your data, correct it, delete it, or ask us to stop using it for certain purposes. Most actions are available directly from your account settings. For anything else, email [email protected] — we respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana at dataprotection.org.gh
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform grows and the law changes. When we make significant changes, we will email you, show a banner in the platform for 30 days, and update the version number at the top of this page. For minor changes (correcting a contact email, clarifying existing practice), we will update the page without a notification.
How to Contact Us
For any privacy questions, data requests, or concerns, contact us at [email protected]. We aim to respond within 14 days and will always respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Data Protection Commission of Ghana at dataprotection.org.gh
